Modern BYLT Roofing
An independent image and accessibility review of a live roofing contractor’s website.
This is an independent review I performed on a live public website to demonstrate real analysis — I’m not affiliated with this business, and this isn’t paid client work.
The title tag and meta description on this site are genuinely well written — keyword and location included, clear value proposition. The issue here is entirely in the images.
| Element / Location | Current state | Issue |
|---|---|---|
| Title tag | Includes service + location | No issue — well optimized |
| Meta description | Written, compelling, includes a call to action | No issue — well optimized |
| Image alt text | Empty across nearly every image sitewide | Sitewide gap in image SEO and accessibility |
Missing alt text means none of the project photos can surface in Google Image search, and screen reader users get no information about what any image on the site shows — including the before/after project photos that are likely doing a lot of the persuasive work on this page.
- Add descriptive alt text to every image, prioritizing project photos and testimonials first, since those carry the most SEO and trust value.
- Use specific, descriptive alt text (e.g. “asphalt shingle roof replacement, before and after, [city]”) rather than generic labels like “photo” or “image.”
- Once alt text is added, check a sample of pages in a free accessibility checker to confirm nothing else was missed.
