Maid To Change
An independent on-page SEO review of a live residential cleaning company website.
This is an independent review I performed on a live public website to demonstrate real analysis — I’m not affiliated with this business, and this isn’t paid client work.
I reviewed the homepage metadata for Maid To Change, a residential house-cleaning company, focusing on how the meta description is generated and whether it reflects the business well in search results.
| Element / Location | Current state | Issue |
|---|---|---|
| Title tag | Includes service + brand name | Reasonably fine |
| Meta description | Pulls in stray fragments, e.g. “… Book a house cleaner in less than 60 seconds… How we do it… How we do it…” | Reads as broken, not a written description |
| Viewport tag | Present and correctly configured | No issue |
The meta description is often the first full sentence a potential customer reads about a business in search results. A broken, fragmented one looks unprofessional and gives no real reason to click, even if the site itself is well built.
- Write a dedicated, hand-written meta description under 160 characters — service, service area, and a clear reason to click (e.g. same-day booking, satisfaction guarantee).
- Check whether this is happening sitewide or only on the homepage, and update accordingly.
- Once fixed, spot-check the page in a fresh Search Console URL inspection to confirm the new description is being picked up.
